Drums
Drums are the most common percussive instrument and they
come in many forms, from a simple bongo to the popular drum set used
in rock and roll. Those who play a drum set develop timing, stamina
and ambidexterity.
The drums included in a set include:
• Snare
• Bass
• Mid-toms
• Floor-toms
• Cymbals
Unlike other instruments, most drums are not pitched – that is,
they are not tuned to a certain key. Snare drums, cymbals, bass drum
and bongos are all examples indefinite percussive instruments that produce
complex frequencies but no clear pitch.
